What goes into a candle matters to us. We choose 100% plant-based soy wax for Simple North candles and pair it with natural cotton wicks and carefully selected fragrance oils. Our wax contains no added paraffin.
A clear choice of materials
Soy wax is made from soybean oil. It suits the creamy appearance and understated presentation of our candles, while allowing us to be specific about the wax we use. We prefer to explain our own materials clearly so you can make an informed choice.
Fragrance selected with care
Our premium fragrance oils are crafted with botanical extracts and essential oils sourced from around the world. Each scent is formulated by our founder, a Certified Aromatherapist. We select phthalate-free fragrance oils and review supplier information as part of choosing our ingredients.
What a wax label tells you
The wax is one part of the finished candle. Wick selection, fragrance, vessel design, and how the candle is used also matter. A plant-based wax description is an ingredient statement; it does not mean that a burning candle produces no emissions or will suit every person's sensitivities.
Use and care matter too
Follow the care and safety instructions supplied with your candle. Keep the wick trimmed as directed, place the candle away from drafts and combustible materials, and never leave it burning unattended. If a fragrance does not agree with you, extinguish the candle and ventilate the room.
